Uros Kayak + Amantani Overnight Tour is a round-trip paddle from Puno to Uros and from Uros to Puno. You’ll visit Amantani and Taquile Islands by a group boat.
Venture on a one-way trip kayak adventure throughout the amazing landscape of Lake Titicaca National Reserve. Stay the night at a local house, share their food and dance wearing traditional clothes in Amantani Island.
Day 1: Transfer from your hotel to kayak launch dock, meet your guide and set off for Uros floating Islands through an amazing landscape. At Uros Islands, you’ll meet another tour guide, join the group boat tour and head to Amantani for a homestay experience.
Day 2: After an early breakfast in Amantani, navigate to Taquile Island for a scenic hiking through its stone trail, learn art textiles from your guide, have lunch and return to Puno. On the way you’ll be dropped off at the Uros Islands.
Pick-up from your Puno hotel and transfer to the local kayak dock on a 15-min drive. Get in a tandem or single Prijon kayak and paddle from the Isla Esteves pier towards the Uros man-made floating Islands.
A small engine boat transfers you to embark on Amantani Island boat. The slow regular motor boat takes you to Amantani main port. Small groups of 4 people will be taken by families to their homes.
The lunch provided by the family is based on Quinua soup, fried cheese and cooked potatoes and Ocas as the main course and Andean mint or Coca hot drink.
If you are in good physical condition you could trek to Pachatata Temple or Pachamama Temple. Contemplate the beautiful sunset and enjoy a 360-degree landscape view.
All people visiting the Island are invited to take part of “Peña Show”, a welcome live music party with freestyle dance and funny moments.
After an early breakfast, your family host walks you down to the local port. The boat captain navigates towards Taquile Island for about 1 hour.
A 45-minute ascending path takes you to the top where you’ll find a small Main Square. Learn about Taquile’s history, tradition and textiles. Have lunch based on Taquilean Quinoa soup, grilled Trout and return to Puno.
