1. Booking Process and Confirmation

1.1. How to book your experience

To confirm your participation in any of our excursions, please follow this procedure:

• Complete the booking request form on our website or send an email to titicacaways@gmail.com
• Indicate your preferred tour, date, and number of participants
• You will receive a confirmation email with your request details and the corresponding amount
• Your reservation will be finalized once you make the initial deposit

1.2. Required documentation

To properly process your registration, we require the following information for each participant:

• Full name (as shown on ID document)
• Passport or ID number
• Date of birth
• Nationality
• Preferred travel date
• Hotel in Puno
• Contact number (WhatsApp)
• Valid email address

Important note: The information provided must be accurate and match your official documents. Titicacaways is not responsible for issues arising from incorrect or incomplete data.

1.3. Booking advance notice

We recommend planning ahead to secure your spot:

• Traditional tours: Book at least 48 hours in advance
• Private experiences: Request 3 to 5 days prior notice
• High season (June-August): Consider booking 1 to 2 weeks ahead
• Special dates: For holidays and local events, we suggest confirming even earlier

2. Rates and Payment Methods

2.1. Prices and currency

Prices displayed on our website are expressed in US Dollars (USD) and Peruvian Soles (PEN). Rates may vary depending on season and availability, so we suggest verifying the current cost at the time of your request.

2.2. Accepted payment methods

• Credit Card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
• Bank Transfer: Deposit to checking account
• Cash: Direct payment at our office

2.3. Deposit policy

• Initial deposit: To confirm your participation, a 50% advance payment of the total value is required
• Remaining balance: The remaining 50% must be covered before the activity begins or at the time of boarding
• Last-minute bookings: For requests with less than 24 hours notice, 100% payment is required

3. Cancellations and Refunds

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. Below is our cancellation policy:

• Early cancellation (up to 48 hours before): 90% refund. 10% covers administrative costs.
• Intermediate cancellation (between 24 and 48 hours before): 50% refund. Operational costs are already committed.
• Late cancellation (less than 24 hours before): No refund. Services are already confirmed.

3.1. Cancellations by Titicacaways

In exceptional situations where we are forced to suspend an activity (adverse weather conditions, safety issues, force majeure), we will offer you the following alternatives:

• Rescheduling the experience for a later date
• Substitution with a tour of similar characteristics
• Full refund of the amount paid

3.2. No-show

If you do not arrive at the agreed meeting point within 20 minutes after the scheduled time, it will be considered a no-show and no refund will be issued.

4. Obligations and Responsibilities

4.1. Our commitment to you

At Titicacaways we are committed to:

• Providing accurate and complete information about each experience
• Having certified guides and trained staff
• Maintaining our equipment and vessels in optimal condition
• Complying with established schedules, except for unforeseen circumstances
• Ensuring your safety throughout the activity
• Respecting sustainability and responsible tourism standards

4.2. Your responsibility as a traveler

By participating in our activities, you agree to:

• Follow the guide's instructions at all times
• Inform us of any relevant medical conditions or allergies
• Respect the rules of the local communities we visit
• Not damage the environment or cultural heritage
• Maintain appropriate and respectful behavior
• Accept the risks inherent to adventure activities

Travel insurance: We recommend having travel insurance that covers adventure activities. Titicacaways is not responsible for medical expenses resulting from accidents during the activity.

5. Itinerary Changes

Routes and schedules are subject to modifications depending on:

• Weather conditions: For safety, we may adjust the route in case of strong winds, heavy rain, or fog
• Lake level: Variations in water level may affect landings
• Community availability: Local events or festivities on the islands may require adaptations
• Group physical capacity: The guide may adjust the pace according to the group's conditions

Any changes will be communicated in a timely manner and will always seek to preserve the essence of the experience.

6. Participation of Minors

Titicacaways experiences are suitable for the whole family, however:

• Children under 5 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult
• For kayaking activities, a minimum age of 8 years and swimming ability are required
• Minors under 18 must have authorization signed by a parent or guardian
• Accompanying adults assume full responsibility for the safety of minors

7. Image Rights and Property

During our excursions, our team may capture photographs and videos for promotional purposes. By participating in our activities:

• You agree that your image may appear in marketing materials, social media, and website
• If you prefer not to be photographed, notify the guide before the tour begins
• Photos taken by our team are available to participants at no additional cost
• Content generated by Titicacaways is the exclusive property of the company
